There are two places that we may reach after death: heaven or hell. It is scary to think about how or when we are going to die, but have you ever thought about where you will end up going when you die? The majority of you that are reading this right now will most likely say that you are gonna go to heaven when you die. On a serious note, how can you know for sure that you are 100% going to heaven when you die?
Besides knowing what percentage you think you are going to heaven, consider what actions you need to take. What will you have to do to go to heaven when you die? For instance, when I was asked these two questions in my junior year of college, my response was that I was 80% certain I would go to heaven because I felt I needed to do more good works, such as reading my Bible, praying, and attending church. However, I was informed that good works alone do not secure your spot in heaven when you die.
My dear friend, if you are questioning about how or what you will do in order to get to heaven, then I am about to share with you. I pray that the truth of God’s word that I share with you will soften your heart, renew your mind, and open your eyes.
God is Good and He doesn’t Want Anyone to Perish
Some people don’t see how good God is. They don’t realize how much he loves and cares for us. The truth of the matter is that God does love you because He sent His son, Jesus Christ, to this world.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” – John 3:16 (KJV)
God loved you so much that He gave you the greatest gift that is Jesus Christ. We are the recipient of God’s love for us if we believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) and that we will not perish because God saves man from eternal destruction.
When we believe in the sacrificial love of Jesus, we will have everlasting life with Him meaning His love for us never changes and it’s forever.
All Men Are Sinners
We are all born sinners. Yes, that is in fact true! If you are reading this thinking, “I haven’t done a single bad thing in my life”.
We have all sinned at some point of our lives like lying about something to our parents or even stole a cookie from the cookie jar before dinner time when we were told not to do so.
No man is perfect and none of us are what God intended us to be.
“For all have sinned, and come short to the glory of God” – Romans 3:23 (KJV)
If you can do this right now, reach up and touch the ceiling. Oh wait! You can’t!? That’s because you are short!
We fall short of Heaven because of our sin. The bible teaches us that there is a terrible consequence for those who sin.
The Penalty For Man’s Death
Let’s admit it. We are all going to die one day. As scary as it sounds, it is indeed true! We all have a birthday and a death day. The Bible speaks of three kinds of deaths:
1)Physical death
All people will die physically someday
2) Spiritual death
A condition that takes place when a man’s spirit is separated from the spirit of God.
3) Our soul
People talk about going to hell for eternity when it is not true. Hell is a temporary place.
In fact, God doesn’t want anyone to go to hell.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” – Romans 6:23 (KJV)
There is a difference between wages and a gift. Wages are something you have to work for in order to receive it. A gift is something that is freely given to you. God gave you Jesus Christ, the greatest gift onto this earth for a purpose.
Jesus Christ Paid The Penalty For All Sin
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is something beautiful and peaceful to remember. Jesus came unto this earth after his mother, Mary, gave birth to Him as a virgin. Jesus then grows up and led His twelve disciples while having the power to heal those who are blind, paralyzed, and even raised up Lazarus from the dead.
However, Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice. He died and shed His blood on the cross of Calvary to pay the price for ALL our sins.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” – Romans 5:8 (KJV)
My dear friend, what I am sharing with you is true. Jesus Christ loves you so much that He died on the cross for all of our past, present, and future sins. and that shows
After three days and three nights, Jesus Christ rose up from the grave. His resurrection proves that Jesus had victory over sin and death therefore he forgives us.
“In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;” – Ephesians 1:7 (KJV)
The Only Way To Heaven
Now onto the purpose of sharing you all of this. Jesus’ death on the cross shows that all of our sins are fully paid and forgiven by His blood that was shed once we have faith in His blood.
This shows that salvation is a free gift and that we don’t work our way to earn a spot in heaven.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” – Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)
All you got do my friend, is to believe and have faith in Jesus and His wonderful work on the cross in order to get to Heaven. That is all!
If you are not saved, all you need to do is turn to Jesus Christ and confess to Him that you are a sinner and in need of a Savior. As you do this, thank Him for shedding His blood on the cross and for cleansing you from all sin.
Praise Jesus for saving you from the darkness trying to pull you away and for bringing you into the light. Most importantly, thank Jesus for saving you from all the suffering that you’ve been through and that you now have peace with Him.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” – Romans 10:9
Friend, I pray that the Holy Spirit will stir your heart and renew your mind about your salvation. It is never too late to get saved today and to be a part of God’s kingdom.
God truly loves you and he wants you to walk with Him and follow His ways. Will you get saved and commit your life to Jesus Christ today?
